‘APC repositioning for future elections’
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Maryam Shetty, has said the ruling party is undergoing restructuring aimed at strengthening its internal structures and repositioning it for future electoral contests.
Shetty, a former ministerial nominee under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration describes the development within the party as a transition towards modern, technocratic and strategic leadership.
She said the emergence of the APC National Chairman, Mr Nentawe Yilwatda, signals a new phase in the party’s evolution.
Shetty added that the party stands to benefit from renewed unity, clearer strategic direction and stronger grassroots engagement under the current leadership.
She said Nigeria requires data-driven political leadership grounded in practical governance, noting that Yilwatda’s leadership style has injected new energy into the party at a critical time.
“As we move towards the next electoral cycle, his leadership will be crucial in consolidating internal unity and strengthening electoral preparedness,” she said.
Shetty urged party members across the country to support ongoing efforts to stabilise and reposition the APC for sustained national relevance.
