Finally, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, has resigned from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending a long-standing relationship with the party under which he rose to prominence, and signalling a potential shift in the state’s political direction ahead of the 2027 election cycle.
In a resignation letter dated December 29, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward, Mangu Local Government Area, Mutfwang expressed appreciation to the party for the platform it provided throughout his political career.
He acknowledged the support of party leaders and members, stating that he remains grateful for the trust placed in him.
He said “The realities of the moment” and his commitment to “purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery” had compelled him to seek an alternative political platform.
The letter was received and acknowledged by Mr. Desjack Sunday, Longvel Ward Chairman, on December 30, 2025.
