FCT polls: I’ll support only those supporting Tinubu — Wike
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that he will only support candidates who back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, regardless of their political party, in the FCT Area Council elections scheduled for Saturday, February 21. Wike made this statement in Abuja on Saturday during the 60th birthday celebration of Senator Sandy Onor—an event honoring six decades of scholarship, leadership, and service. The Minister maintained that he owes no one an apology for his stance, promising to throw his weight behind any candidate aligned with the President, irrespective of party affiliation. “We have the FCT Area Council election coming up on February 21, and I have a duty to support any candidate that supports President Tinubu to win,” Wike said. “It is also my duty to ensure that any candidate not supporting Tinubu does not win the election. I owe no apology for my stand.” Speaking on the celebrant, the Minister described Senator Onor as a credible ally, a trustworthy friend, and a “good brother.”
