
Kaltungo mini-marathon winners pocket attractive cash prizes
Winners at the recently held Kaltungo mini-marathon received handsome cash prizes from the organisers for their outstanding performances in different categories
In the male senior category, Geofery Kaftin Goman finished first and was rewarded with N700,000, while Felix Fidelis and Habibu Asabar got N500,000 and N300,000 for placing second and third respectively.
For the boy’s category, Komshinen Danladi, came first and received N500,000, while Isaac Dangkat received N300,000.
Ine the female senior category, Brenda Ali Kanar took first position and smiled home with N500,000, Naris Na’aman received N300,000 for second position while Sandra Hussaini Yahaya who finished third received N100,000.
In the girl’s category, Shangashik Danjuma, emerged winner and earned N200,000, Patience Monday received N150,000 just as Deborah Hassan earned N100,000 for coming third.
The race which was held in Kaltungo, Gombe State, was sponsored by the Mai Kaltungo, Engr. Saleh Muhammad, as part of activities of the annual Kaltungo Festival.
Speaking at the presentation of prizes, Engineer Muhammad thanked the Special Guest of Honour, Rt. Hon. Usman Bello Kumo, member representing Akko Central for honouring the occasion through his epresentative.
The representative of the Special Guest of Honour, Alhaji Mijinyawa Sani Labaran, a former Commissioner for Youths in Gombe State reaffirmed his principal’s commitment to supporting sporting activities in Kaltungo, noting that sports play a vital role in youth engagement and community development.
Similarly, the Gombe State Commissioner for Sports, Adamu Inuwa Pantami, represented by the Director of Sports, said the state government would consider outstanding performers from the mini-marathon for possible inclusion in the state’s contingent to the next edition of the National Sports Festival in Enugu.
