The National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has commended the developmental strides of Governor Abba Yusuf, describing his performance as evidence of “purposeful and people-centred leadership” in Kano State.
Kwankwaso spoke on Sunday night when Governor Yusuf paid him a courtesy visit at his Abuja residence to formally present his recently received national leadership award.
The development was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, and made available to The PUNCH.
The former governor said the award conferred on Yusuf was a recognition of the “remarkable infrastructural transformation and socioeconomic progress” recorded under his administration.
He expressed delight over the governor’s achievements within a short period, noting that the reforms and development projects across the state signalled a return to prudent governance.
“The award is a testament to the work you are doing for the good people of Kano,” Kwankwaso told the governor, urging him to sustain the momentum of public service reforms and people-oriented programmes.
Yusuf presented to Kwankwaso the Distinguished Award for Visionary Leadership and Public Service Sector Reform, which he received in Abuja at the Nigeria Excellence Awards in Public Service.
During the visit, Kwankwaso offered prayers and goodwill, assuring Yusuf of his continued support as the administration pursues further reforms aimed at improving the lives of Kano residents.
