Senate to hold emergency plenary Tuesday

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has directed senators to reconvene for an emergency plenary session on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

The directive came days after the Senate rejected a proposal seeking mandatory electronic transmission of election results.

In a statement issued by the Clerk of the Senate, Emmanuel Odo, all senators were requested to attend the sitting.

The emergency session is scheduled to begin at 12 noon.
