
Day 6, 7 & 8 LGA Tour: Gov Fintiri Storms Jada, Shelleng and Hong with Projects
Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has intensified grassroots development efforts as his statewide assessment tour reached Jada, Shelleng and Hong Local Government Areas on Days 6, 7 and 8 respectively.
The tour, designed to evaluate ongoing projects and identify critical needs across the 21 local government areas, witnessed the commissioning of landmark projects, flag-off of new infrastructure, and fresh commitments aimed at boosting socio-economic growth.
Jada: Roads, Water and Institutional Growth
In Jada LGA, Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to potable water and critical infrastructure. He announced the deployment of additional resources to strengthen ongoing water projects, ensuring long-term sustainability.
To enhance connectivity and economic activities, the governor flagged off the construction of 4.42 kilometres of major roads. He also commissioned the official residence of the Local Government Chairman alongside other completed projects.
Governor Fintiri assured residents that all legitimate community requests would receive prompt attention. Lawmakers and cabinet members praised the administration’s strides in health and human capital development, while advocating for the establishment of a higher institution and the construction of the Jada–Kojoli Road to sustain economic momentum.
The visit featured colourful cultural displays, symbolising unity and strong ties between the government and the people.
Shelleng: Landmark Community Projects
In Shelleng LGA, the governor commissioned key people-oriented projects, including a Primary Health Care Centre, the Fresh Air Town Hall with a 3,000-seat capacity, and the Fresh Air Shopping Plaza.
Commending the council’s performance, Governor Fintiri described the projects as impactful and reflective of responsible leadership at the grassroots. He assured residents that their request for a water project would be addressed and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing the Kiri–Shelleng Road with asphalt to improve connectivity and stimulate commerce.
Hong: 6km Roads, Electricity and Market Boost
At Government Secondary School, Hong, the governor announced plans for the construction of six kilometres of roads and the extension of electricity to underserved communities.
He further disclosed that a new Science and Technology Secondary School, alongside the road project, would be completed and commissioned before the end of 2026. The administration will also revitalize the water supply system to improve access to potable water.
Highlighting the purpose of the tour, Governor Fintiri said it provides an opportunity to assess performance in key sectors and channel additional resources where necessary.
The governor later commissioned a newly constructed grain market in Hong to boost commercial activities and enhance economic growth in the area.
Across the three local government areas, stakeholders, legislators and community leaders commended Governor Fintiri’s developmental strides, describing the projects as strategic interventions that directly impact the lives of the people.
The Day 6, 7 and 8 engagements further underscored the administration’s resolve to deepen infrastructure development, strengthen local governance, and accelerate inclusive growth across Adamawa State.
