Six soldiers killed, others wounded in highway blast in Borno
At least nine soldiers have been killed and an unspecified number wounded when a military convoy tripped a landmine in the northern part of Borno state on Sunday.
BusinessDay reported that the incident occurred at the remote village of Bindundul, near Kareto town, in the Mobbar Local Government Area of the state, following a sporadic shooting from the outlawed group.
According to security sources, they were heading from Maiduguri to Damasak, the headquarters of Mobbar LGA, when the unfortunate attack occurred.

The source revealed the anti bomb resistant vehicle was damaged beyond repair due to the magnitude of the bomb blast.
“Sadly, we lost six gallant soldiers who paid the supreme sacrifice to defend the nation,” the source said.
“The incident happened at Bindundul village, some 20 kilometres away from Kareto town. The axis is known to be the ISWAP terrorists’ route where they move their logistics to part of Yobe state and the Sambisa forests.”
However, Our Correspondent sighted dead bodies of soldiers in a viral video where they are colleagues are trying to save them from the scenes of the bomb blast.
The wounded soldiers are currently receiving treatment.
This is coming barely two weeks after the Donald Trump-led US government shot a missile into parts of Sokoto believed to be an enclave of terrorists.
