10-km access road to Renewed Hope City ready in May – Wike
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has promised that the ongoing construction of the 10-kilometre access road to the Renewed Hope City, Karsana, will be ready in May.
Wike, who gave the assurance after inspecting several ongoing projects in Abuja on Tuesday, expressed satisfaction with the contractor’s progress.
“I’m very impressed with the quality of work. I didn’t know that it’s like a ring road, covering over 10 kilometres,” Wike said. “From what I’ve seen, they’re really going to meet the May–June deadline.”
The minister also inspected the completed 8-lane Obafemi Awolowo Way (Arterial Road N5), which links Life Camp with Dape District and Karmo.
He explained that the project is now finished and fitted with streetlights, noting that the only remaining task is the walkway, which is expected to be completed within three weeks.
“We are happy because it’s one of those projects that we think will be inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu during his third anniversary,” he said.
Wike explained that the visit was part of routine inspections to monitor contractor performance, quality of delivery, and adherence to timelines.
He further assured the contractors that the FCT Administration would provide the necessary funds to ensure the projects are completed on schedule. (NAN)
