Osun Reps caucus rejects gov’ship primary
Members of the Osun State caucus in the House of Representatives have rejected what they described as a “purported governorship primary” allegedly influenced by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a statement jointly signed by six PDP lawmakers—Hon. Bamidele Salam, Hon. Mudashiru Lukman Alani, Hon. Akanni Clement Ademola, Hon. Adewale Moruf Adebayo, Hon. Adetunji Abidemi Olusoji, and Hon. Oladebo Lanre Omoleye—the caucus dissociated itself from the primary and urged Governor Makinde to desist from “any action capable of threatening the peace and political stability of Osun State.”
The lawmakers alleged that the exercise was orchestrated with “thugs and political jobbers” from Ibadan.
They rejected the purported emergence of Adebayo Adedamola ‘Fryo’ as PDP’s candidate, warning him against parading himself as such, calling it “criminal impersonation” and a provocation of Osun PDP leaders.
The caucus also called on INEC to discard the results and adhere strictly to PDP procedures and the Electoral Act in selecting candidates.
