
Commitment to affordable housing earns Dangiwa recognition, award

Commitment and contributions to affordable housing, innovative solutions, and sustainable urban development have earned Ahmed Dangiwa, Nigeria’s Minister for Housing and Urban Development, recognition and award.
The minister won the Transformational Africa Housing Minister of the Year Award for the second consecutive time at an award ceremony organized by the Africa Housing Awards.
Convener of the Africa Housing Awards, Festus Adebayo, noted in a statement at the weekend that the minister’s award was a testament to his unwavering commitment to driving transformative change in Nigeria’s housing sector.
Adebayo disclosed that the award results were officially announced on the Africa Housing Awards website, adding, “this followed a rigorous evaluation process that recognized the Minister’s outstanding contributions to affordable housing, innovative solutions, and sustainable urban development.”
The Africa Housing Awards 2025 ceremony is set to take place on December 12, 2025, at Fraser Suite in Abuja and will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators from across Africa.

Other notable winners include the Namibia Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Sankwasa James Sankwasa, as well as leading real estate companies from Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and South Africa, who will be recognized for their exceptional work in the sector.
Africa Housing Awards is aimed at celebrating the excellent achievements of individuals and companies in the housing and construction industry.
“It recognizes and appreciates hardworking and innovative companies and personalities in the industry, and was birthed to celebrate exceptionalism, hard work, dedication, and success in the construction and housing industry,” Adebayo explained.
