Kaduna gov hosts defence minister, pledges security collaboration

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, on Saturday hosted Nigeria’s newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, on a courtesy visit, pledging closer collaboration to enhance security across the state.

In a statement on his official X account, Governor Sani said, “It was with immense joy and pride that I received the Honourable Minister of Defence.

“I warmly congratulated him on his well-deserved appointment and reaffirmed Kaduna State’s unwavering commitment to deepening our collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of our great nation.”

He added that discussions focused on “strengthening ongoing security operations, fostering more agile intelligence coordination, and bolstering support structures for the brave men and women who daily risk their lives in defence of peace.”

Governor Sani also said, “The security and well-being of the people of Kaduna State remain my foremost priority, and we will intensify our partnership with federal security institutions to ensure enduring stability across the state.”

He expressed gratitude for the Minister’s commendation, noting that “our citizens have consistently stood with our security agencies in moments of challenge and triumph alike, and we shall continue to offer steadfast support as part of our collective responsibility to build a safer society.”

Highlighting the broader vision for national security, Sani expressed confidence in the leadership of the President.

He said, “With the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, we are confident that Nigeria’s defence architecture will grow even more robust, and that our joint efforts will translate into greater peace, resilience, and development for Kaduna State and the entire nation.”

General Musa was appointed Minister of Defence by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on December 2, 2025, confirmed by the Senate on December 3, and assumed office on December 5. He previously served as Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff from June 2023 until October 2025.
