Governor Mutfwang, APC national chair launch e-registration, pledge united Plateau development

Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Plateau State Governor, and Nentawe Yilwatda, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, on Wednesday jointly launched the APC electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise in Dengi, Kanam Local Government Area, and Langtang, Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The exercise, which drew a large crowd of party faithful and supporters, marked a public show of unity between the two leaders, who pledged to work together for peace, unity and development in the state.

Speaking in Dengi, Yilwatda said the nationwide e-registration exercise was designed to strengthen inclusiveness, cohesion and internal democracy within the APC, assuring members of fairness and transparency in the party’s affairs.

“We were never enemies; we only had political differences. Today marks the beginning of a new political consensus anchored on development and inclusion,” Yilwatda Goshwe said, while welcoming Mutfwang into the APC fold.

The APC chairman noted that alignment with the federal government would enhance Plateau State’s access to development opportunities, adding that sacrifices Nigerians are making would lead to better economic outcomes.

In his remarks, Mutfwang said the decision to work with Yilwatda was taken in the overall interest of Plateau State, urging supporters to embrace unity and collective progress.

“We are taking our destiny into our own hands and moving together as one people. This digital registration exercise will translate our unity into measurable political strength,” Mutfwang said.

The governor disclosed plans to support farmers with critical inputs to recover previous losses and assured residents of Kanam and Langtang of improved infrastructure, healthcare facilities and empowerment programmes.

Earlier, both leaders paid a courtesy visit to Muhammadu Muazu Muhammadu II, Emir of Kanam, seeking the support of traditional institutions in mobilising citizens for the registration exercise and development initiatives.

At the Langtang North event, Yilwatda Goshwe said their renewed partnership signified a united APC, while Mutfwang encouraged residents to obtain their NIN and PVCs to participate fully in the political process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
