
Soldiers kill 5 kidnappers, rescue victims in Plateau, Kaduna
Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation ENDURING PEACE, have killed five suspected kidnappers and rescued abducted victims in coordinated operations across Kaduna and Plateau states. According to the operation’s spokesperson, Major Samson Zhakom, troops on December 11, carried out clearance operations in Dangoma and Godogodo villages in Jema’a LGA of Kaduna State, neutralising three kidnappers after a gun battle. He said that on December 12, troops in Plateaua State intercepted a notorious bandit on the Jebbu–Gada Biu road in Bassa LGA and that the suspect opened fire but was swiftly neutralised with recovered items including a pistol, ammunition, a dagger, a mobile phone and cash. In another operation at Jengre, troops ambushed kidnappers fleeing with four abducted persons from Rimi village, Bassa LGA. One kidnapper was killed, while all four victims were rescued.
