Christmas: Buni distributes food to vulnerable families
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has directed the distribution of End-of-Year Seasonal Food Baskets to 1,000 vulnerable families across the state to ease hardship and ensure an inclusive celebration during Christmas.
The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr Mohammed Goje, said the intervention aimed to provide timely relief and nutritional support to orphans, widows, persons with disabilities, the elderly, low-income households and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
He said the programme adopted an inclusive, state-wide approach to ensure dignity and belonging for disadvantaged families during the festive period.
Goje added that community and religious leaders would participate in the distribution process to promote transparency, equity and accountability in line with AAP principles.
