3,000 firefighters on standby in FCT

The Controller of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), FCT Command, Muhammad Anas, has said that with over 3,000 firefighters, the service is prepared to ensure the safety of lives and property as residents celebrate Christmas and New Year.

The controller reiterated the readiness of the FCT firemen while addressing station commanders during the launch of “Yuletide Operation Swift Response to Emergencies” on Tuesday.

Anas said the FCT currently had 24 fire stations with over 3,000 functional personnel deployed to ensure public safety during the festive period. . (NAN)

He charged the commanders to ensure that safety measures were implemented to the fullest by ensuring all personnel remained at their duty posts throughout the holidays. He disclosed that the FFS controller-general had directed that all fire trucks and equipment must be intact and ready for deployment at any time.
