In Lagos, Ikorodu City laboured to a slim 1-0 victory over Abia Warriors to return to the top of the table following Nasarawa United’s 0-1 loss at warri Wolves.
Chidera Oparaocah scored Ikorodu City’s winning goal in the 69th minute while Othuke Egbo’s 6th minute goal was enough to sink Nasarawa United at Warri Wolves.
Elsewhere, Enyimba bounced back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over neighbours Enugu Rangers in Aba.
In Owerri, Gabriel Lekan and Henry Ezeonye scored in each half as newcomers Kun Khalifat stunned Plateau United 2-0 to ease their relegation worries.
At the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, Katsina United forced Bayelsa United to a 1-1 draw. Ifeanyi Ogba put the hosts ahead from the spot in the 7th minute but diminutive midfielder, Azeez Falolu, drew Katsina United level in 36th minute of the match.
Struggling El-Kanemi Warriors’ misery continued as they fell 0-1 to 3SC at the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan.
The other week 15 fixture between Rivers United and Kano Pillars was postponed due to the former’s continental engagement.
Meanwhile, Ikorodu City who narrowly missed out on a continental ticket last season are currently leading the table on superior goal difference of +8 despite having the same 27 points with Nasarawa United.
