
APC names ward, LG appeal screening committees’ members
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the lists of members of the Ward/LGA Congresses Screening Committees, Screening Appeals Committees, as well as the Ward/LGA Congresses and Congresses Appeal Committees.
The Committee lists were signed by the Party’s National Organising Secretary, H.E. Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu.
The party, in a statement signed by Felix Morka, APC National Publicity Secretary, urged all appointed Committee members to discharge their responsibilities diligently, transparently and in strict adherence to the Party’s Constitution and Guidelines.

While speaking to journalists in Abuja following the 183rd meeting of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), the party added that Osun and Ekiti States as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded from scheduled Congresses due to upcoming elections, while Rivers State is excluded due to the subsisting tenure of the current executive committees of the Party in the State.
The party had appointed a former Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari as Chairman of APC Central Coordination Committee for the 2026 National Convention.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, who was initially appointed a member of the committee, replaces the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Sen Hope Uzodimma.
The party later appointed Uzodimma Treasurer of the committee whose membership has been raised from 73 to 92.
A former President of the Senate, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim, who was earlier announced as member, had been been appointed Vice Chairman 1 of the committee.
The Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is now Vice Chairman II, while the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, remains Secretary of the committee.
The membership of the committee includes serving and former governors, senators, members of the national assembly, and other party leaders drawn from across the country.
Among the members listed are Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; and former national chairmen of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, Abdullahi Ganduje, who is a former governor of Kano State.
Other members include Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos; Uba Sani, Kaduna ; Dikko Radda, Katsina; Peter Mbah, Enugu; and Douye Diri, Bayelsa.
The APC said “details of the inauguration of the central coordination committee for the 2026 national convention will be announced in due course”.
