Sokoto ADC suspends 3 officials over alleged anti-party
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State has suspended three of its senior officials indefinitely over alleged anti-party activities. Those affected are the State Secretary, Yusuf Alkali; Assistant Financial Secretary (Sokoto Central), Abba Galadima; and the Publicity Secretary, Murtala Aliyu. Announcing the decision during a press briefing on Wednesday, the Assistant Organising Secretary, Muttaka Alkali, accused the suspended officers of breaching the party’s trust and engaging in conducts capable of undermining the unity and cohesion of the ADC at both state and ward levels. According to him, the action followed a resolution endorsed by 25 of the 33 members of the state executive committee during a recent meeting. The party also cautioned one Umar Faruk Muhammad who it said was not a registered member of the ADC to stop parading himself as the Sokoto State chairman. “ His actions is fraudulent, illegal, and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and create confusion within the party,” the party said The ADC leadership however, reaffirmed Alhaji Bello Isyaku Keegan as the authentic chairman of the party.
