Police question Pastor Okafor over allegations
Pastor Chris Okafor, the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, has been questioned by the police in Lagos over multiple allegations levelled against him.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that Pastor Okafor honoured the police invitation and was grilled for several hours at the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti Street, Yaba, Lagos State.
The police had invited Pastor Okafor for questioning following complaints from several individuals who alleged that the cleric had committed various offences, including rape and other sexual misconduct.
However, after a thorough interrogation, the police released him on self-recognition, indicating that he was free to go without being required to provide bail or sureties.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, who confirmed his release to our correspondent on phone, stated that the Command discovered that the controversial Pastor had a similar case at Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan.
“Yes, Pastor Okafor honoured our invitation the next day. He was subsequently released after questioning on self-recognition.
“His release is to allow him answer to the case at Zone 2. He will be re-invited after the case at Zone 2 has been dispelled,” she added.
Efforts to reach Pastor Okafor’s representatives for comment were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
