Tinubu has no opposition in 2027, says Ondo lawmaker

The senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial District in Ondo State, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, has expressed assurance that President Bola Tinubu would win the 2027 presidential election.

Adegbonmire, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said all members of the state and National Assemblies from the state were working to ensure victory for the president in the 2027 presidential poll.

The senator declared this on Tuesday at the empowerment programme he organised for some constituents of Ondo Central Senatorial District tagged ,’ Adegbonmire Renewed Hope Mega Empowerment Programme, held in Akure the state capital.

He said, “We should not be talking about the chance of Mr President to win the coming election, what we should be discussing now is what he would do between 2027 and 2031. But about him winning the election? That’s a foregone conclusion. Where is the opposition to challenge him? I don’t know of any opposition against President Tinubu. There is no opposition. Who is in the coalition? What’s their name? Please, please. Let’s get serious. Who is in the ADC ( African Democratic Congress)? Tell me who the person is going to be. There’s no ADC anywhere.”

Speaking on the empowerment programme, Senator Adegbonmire said he organised the programme to give back to the people of the senatorial district and also to support the President’s reelection in the state.

“I contribute my efforts to ensure the president wins this state by doing what we are doing now. The President is not going to come to Ondo State to come and work for himself. We will do the work for him and this is part of the work Mr. President.

“It is in support of the President, in support of the state government also. Because if we do well, then the government here has done well. The President has done well. So in support of both the President and the state government. And my party. The only party in Nigeria,” he stated.

Some of the items distributed at the empowerment programme included tricycles, motorcycles, generators, refrigerators, grinding machines, bags of rice, hairdressing equipment and cash among others.

The federal legislator noted that no fewer than 900 constituents, including widows, artisans, People With Disabilities and youths benefited from the gesture.

“We are also empowering about 200 widows, artisans, and market women with cash. So ultimately, cash is for about 200 people, items about 650 people, so approximately 850-900 people have benefited. It is to give something back to my constituents, the yearnings of the people, like I always say, you must listen to your people. And as you know, I think I’ve just spent about two and a half years in the senate.

“The cash incentive is for them to put it back into their businesses. As you can see, it says mega empowerment for renewed hope. That is the slogan of the President. As a member of the APC and as a member of the National Assembly, I am happy to continue to support Mr. President because I think he’s doing very well,” Adegbonmire reiterated.
