Shadrach Akindele, Professor and Vice Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, has announced that the 2025/2026 Set will be the first in the University’s history to graduate with double certifications — one in their chosen academic course and another in an entrepreneurship vocation. The announcement was made as a total of 1,644 students, including 286 postgraduates and 1,358 undergraduates comprising of 1,236 UTME candidates and 122 Direct Entry, were formally matriculated at the institution’s 21st ceremony. Addressing the students, Akindele described the matriculation as more than a formal academic ritual, calling it a “crossing of thresholds” into a covenant community of learning, character, and calling. He emphasised that the fresh students were admitted not by chance, but by purpose, and highlighted their designation as the “remarkable set.” According to the Vice Chancellor, being remarkable is not about applause, social media presence, or passion, but about standing out through values, discipline, and integrity, urging them to pursue excellence without shortcuts and to uphold character in every aspect of their academic and personal lives.
