
Wike-led PDP BoT Meets in Abuja, Moves to Conduct State Congresses
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is holding a meeting in Abuja to address pending organisational issues within the party.
In his opening remarks, the BoT Chairman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, said the body remained committed to restoring confidence in the party and ensuring that congresses are conducted in states where they are yet to be held.
He told members that the national leadership was prepared to work with all state chapters to bring in new leadership and stabilise the party nationwide.
Senator Ohuabunwa outlined the roadmap to include conducting overdue state congresses, consolidating ongoing efforts, and supporting the national leadership to reposition the party.
He said the steps were vital to strengthening unity, promoting transparency and boosting grassroots participation.
He added that by holding timely congresses and reinforcing internal discipline, the PDP hoped to rebuild trust among its members and present a more organised and credible structure ahead of future elections.
Those present at the meeting include Senator Ohuabunwa, the factional BoT chairman, the PDP factional chairman, Abdul-Rahman Mohammed, the national secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu, Philip Tanimu Aduda, some state chairmen and some members of the National Assembly.
