
NDLEA arrests 15 suspects, seizes 361kg of cannabis in Delta
The Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested 15 suspected drug traffickers in the state during the month of January 2026.
The State NDLEA Commander, Halilu Hamidu, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the command’s achievements within the period under review.
He stated that the command also secured a total of seven convictions from the Federal High Courts in Warri and Asaba during the same period.
According to the Commander, all 15 suspects have already been charged to court.
Regarding the seizures, Hamidu said the command confiscated 361.503 kg of illicit substances, including Cannabis Sativa, cannabis seeds, Tramadol, Methamphetamine, Diazepam, Cocaine, Heroin, Swinol, Molly, and Cocodamol.
Additionally, the command seized 109.120 litres of liquid substances and injections, including Codeine syrup, Pentazocine injection, Tramadol injection, and a mixture of cannabis and dry gin (popularly known as “monkey tail”).
