Dignitaries to Chart New Course for Oke-Ogun at PMI Roundtable

A lineup of prominent national and state lawmakers, alongside a leading legal expert, will headline the 2025 Roundtable Discourse organized by the Pioneer Movement Iseyin (PMI) as part of its annual week-long programme aimed at advancing development across the Oke-Ogun region.

The non-governmental, non-political organization announced that this year’s events will focus on critical issues affecting Oke-Ogun—widely regarded as the food basket of South-West Nigeria—including state creation, security concerns, agro-allied opportunities, and the region’s sociopolitical growth.

In a statement jointly signed by PMI President, Pioneer Kayode Adelere; Secretary, Pioneer Barr. Bayo Azeez; and Chairman of the Planning Committee, Pioneer Tunji Salami, the group outlined activities scheduled to hold from December 5 to 7, 2025.

The programme opens on Friday, December 5, with a Jumat service at Araromi Central Mosque, Ladogan, Iseyin, followed by the final match of the PAB Football Competition at the Government Technical College, Oluwole, by 4 p.m. Earlier that day, the finals of the Pioneer Ajibike Bisiriyu Football Competition will take place at the Iseyin Sports Ground.

The flagship event—a roundtable discussion themed “Oke-Ogun Affairs: Matters Arising”—is slated for Saturday, December 6, at Iseyin City Hall by 10 a.m. The session will include scholarship and teacher award presentations.

Key discussants include senior advocate and indigene of the town, Barr. Ahmed Raji (SAN); Senator Fatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District; Hon. Najeemdeen Shina Oyedeji, Member of the House of Representatives for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency; and Hon. Dele Adeola, Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly for Iseyin/Itesiwaju.

The Aseyin of Iseyinland, His Royal Highness Oba Sefiu Oyebola Ajirotutu, will serve as the Father of the Day, alongside other traditional rulers and invited dignitaries.

Activities will conclude with a Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, December 7, at Christ Apostolic Church, Oluwole, by 10 a.m.

PMI urged residents and stakeholders across the region to participate fully in the 2025 PMI Week, emphasizing its commitment to the continued development of Iseyin and the wider Oke-Ogun area.
