I’ll keep dancing, it doesn’t affect governance – Adeleke
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his commitment to dancing, saying his hobby neither diminishes his capacity to govern nor distracts him from the responsibilities of his office.
Adeleke, popularly called “the dancing governor”, has often been criticised by political opponents who claim his public dance displays portray a lack of seriousness.
But speaking on Channels’ Politics Today, the governor dismissed such claims, insisting that dancing remains his personal way of praising God and relaxing.
“I will keep dancing because I love to dance and praise my God. It doesn’t change anything. Everyone has their way of relaxing. My hobby is to dance, and it does not affect my work,” he said.
Adeleke, who on Wednesday defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party, has since emerged as the party’s flag bearer for the August 8, 2026, governorship election in the state.
He said his move was aimed at safeguarding his people-focused policies and securing his re-election bid.
“To ensure continuity and the long-term sustainability of our people-centered governance agenda beyond 2026, we have taken the bold step of moving to the Accord Party,” Adeleke said,
