RTEAN cautions against reckless driving
The National Executive President of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Alhaji (Dr) Muhammed Musa Mai-Takobi, has cautioned motorists against reckless driving during the festive season.
In a statement issued by the National Deputy President (Administration), Ambassador Muhammad Abubakar Bishara, Mai-Takobi appealed to all road transport operators, drivers, motor park officials and commuters to prioritise safety over speed and profit.
As millions of Nigerians travel to reunite with their families and loved ones, he stressed that human life remained sacred and priceless, adding that no journey was worth risking lives.
According to the statement, RTEAN urged drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules and regulations, specifically advising against over-speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading and the use of alcohol and drugs while driving.
He said, “Vehicle owners and operators are also advised to ensure proper vehicle maintenance, carry out roadworthiness checks and comply with all safety standards before embarking on any journey.’’
The association extended warm compliments to Nigerians as they celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
Mai-Takobi pledged the association’s full cooperation with all stakeholders to reduce road crashes and save lives.
Nigerians can now invest ₦2.5 million on premium domains and profit about ₦17-₦25 million. All earnings paid in US Dollars. Rather than wonder, click here to find out how it works.
