The Peoples Democratic Party has announced that it will formally present the Certificate of Return to its Ekiti State governorship candidate, Dr Oluwole Oluyede, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

The event is scheduled to hold at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at 2 pm.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Enemobong.

“Following the successful conduct of the Ekiti State Gubernatorial Primary Election of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Appeal Panel ratification, the National Working Committee hereby schedules the Presentation of Certificate of Return to our Candidate, Dr Oluwole Olyede, for the June 20, 2026 Governorship Election in Ekiti State, as follows: Date; Wednesday, December 10, 2025,” the statement read.

The party invited leaders, members of the National Executive Committee, PDP governors, serving and former members of the Board of Trustees, current and past lawmakers, and other stakeholders to attend the ceremony.

It added that the event underscores the party’s commitment to uniting its structures ahead of the 2026 governorship poll.

PUNCH Online reported in November that Oluyede, a medical expert, emerged as the PDP governorship candidate in Ekiti State.

He emerged victorious in the party’s primary election, which held on November 8 through the early hours of November 9.

He polled 279 votes to defeat Funso Ayeni, who scored 239 votes, and Funmilayo Ogun, who had 17 votes.
