Kidnapping: Police patrol FCT communities bordering Kogi, Nasarawa
The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Miller G. Dantawaye, on Tuesday, conducted an extensive operational patrol of FCT communities bordering Nasarawa and Kogi states.
CP Miller addressed journalists shortly after the patrol in the Chiji community which borders the FCT and Nasarawa State.
He said the exercise was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security across boundary lines and communities adjoining the FCT.
He added that the patrol covered the neighbouring communities of Naharati Tsoho, Naharati Sabo, Chiji Sabo, Chiji and Achido, all of which border Nasarawa and parts of Kogi.
The commissioner explained that such patrols were prompted by recent security concerns, especially within border communities.
He further said, “This patrol also forms part of the command’s operational strategy to personally assess deployments and ongoing security operations across the FCT, with a particular focus on boundary and flashpoint areas vulnerable to criminal activity.”
He urged residents of Abaji, especially those in villages bordering Kogi and Nasarawa, to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the command through its emergency lines: 08032003913 and 07057337653.
Our correspondent further reports that during the patrol, the CP stopped briefly at the palace of the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, where he reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustained collaboration with traditional institutions in support of community-based security initiatives.
