Lagos transport commissioner to headline BusinessDay logistics conference 2025
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State commissioner for transportation, will headline the BusinessDay Mobility and Logistics Conference 2025, which will convene stakeholders across Nigeria’s transport and supply chain sectors on Wednesday, December 10, at Four Points by Sheraton in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Osiyemi is expected to set the tone for conversations on how Nigeria can strengthen its logistics backbone at a time when infrastructure gaps, weak multimodal links, and persistent last-mile bottlenecks continue to slow trade and economic productivity.
His keynote will frame the sector’s challenges around a central theme: “The Business of Logistics: Advancing Infrastructure, Connectivity and Last-Mile Solutions in Nigeria.”
The conference, organised by BusinessDay, is designed as a strategic platform for policymakers, private-sector operators, innovators, financiers, and service providers to reflect on the state of Nigeria’s logistics economy and explore solutions for a more efficient and technology-driven ecosystem.
Osiyemi’s presence is seen as significant for an industry increasingly looking to Lagos, Nigeria’s busiest economic hub, for direction on urban mobility reforms, freight management, and improved coordination across ports, roads, and inland logistics corridors.
His remarks are expected to speak to the importance of public-private partnerships, infrastructure expansion, and policy coherence in unlocking efficiency in the movement of goods.
The event will also feature contributions from sector leaders, including Obiora Madu, Tunji Gomes of DP World, Goochukwu Ugboma, Amit Bose of Valency, Adebola Amoo of GridCode, Ibrahim Lawal, Samuel Ebidunni of MTN, Reynolds Shodeinde of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Stephen Adedero of ASCN, and Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on the Blue Economy.
Through keynote insights and panel discussions, speakers will examine infrastructure bottlenecks, the need for stronger intermodal connectivity, and the role of technology in improving last-mile delivery for both urban and rural markets. The gathering is expected to produce a collaborative roadmap for strengthening Nigeria’s logistics competitiveness and positioning the industry as a critical driver of economic growth.
