
India’s new High Commissioner presents credentials to Tinubu
Abhishek Singh, newly appointed High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, has formally assumed duty following the presentation of his Letter of Credence to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
In a statement issued by the Indian High Commission on Friday, the mission confirmed that Tinubu warmly received Singh and congratulated him on his diplomatic posting to Africa’s largest economy.

During the ceremony, Singh reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening its long-standing strategic partnership with Nigeria.
He expressed optimism about expanding cooperation across key sectors, including trade, technology, defence, health, education, energy, and people-to-people exchanges.
“Marking the assumption of his duties, Amb Singh reiterated India’s commitment to further strengthen its strategic partnership with Nigeria and expressed confidence in the continued advancement of bilateral cooperation across diverse sectors,” the statement read.

The High Commission noted that India remains dedicated to enhancing its relationship with Nigeria, one of its most important partners in Africa, and looks forward to consolidating gains in the years ahead.
