2027: Coalition begins nationwide mobilisation for Tinubu

The Presidential Coalition Council has officially kicked off its nationwide mobilisation campaign in Ibadan, Oyo State, urging Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027, saying a second term would allow the consolidation of the far-reaching reforms initiated by his administration.

The call was made by the National Coordinator of the PCC, Abiodun Faleke, during the launch of the council and a sensitisation programme on the policies of the Tinubu administration, held on Saturday at Christ Apostolic Church Grammar School, Adesola, Ibadan.

The PUNCH reports that a series of re-election programmes have been launched across the country as part of efforts to mobilise grassroots support for President Tinubu ahead of 2027.

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency, Remi Oseni, has also organised a grassroots mobilisation effort through the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends to re-energise the party’s base, particularly in rural areas where voter turnout is traditionally high.

Represented by a member of the House of Representatives, Abiodun Mafe, Faleke relayed a message from President Tinubu, urging party members to intensify efforts to win more Nigerians to the All Progressives Congress and continue spreading what he described as the “gospel of good governance” of the administration.

He said, “The President assures you that there is no cause for fear ahead of 2027. The APC will emerge victorious at both the national level and in this state. Keep your Permanent Voter’s Cards safe, and if you do not have one, go and register immediately. Without your voter’s card, mobilisation efforts will amount to nothing.”

Also speaking, Abdullah Enilolobo of the PCC team from Abuja said the choice of Ibadan as the starting point for the council’s activities was strategic, as the city accounts for nearly half of Oyo State’s votes.

Highlighting the administration’s achievements, Enilolobo said Nigeria was on the verge of collapse before Tinubu assumed office in 2023, noting that the country was borrowing to pay salaries and faced imminent bankruptcy.

He said the removal of fuel subsidy, the floating of the naira and the introduction of a new tax regime were difficult but necessary measures that had helped stabilise the economy.

Enilolobo urged party members to work collectively to secure APC victories in both the Oyo State governorship election and the 2027 presidential election.

He also commended Ayo Bakare for using personal resources to organise the launch and sensitisation programme, describing it as a strong demonstration of commitment to the APC and the Tinubu project.

In his remarks, Bakare commended the PCC team from Abuja and expressed confidence in Faleke’s leadership, describing him as a seasoned political strategist who served as Director-General of the Tinubu Campaign Council during the 2023 elections.

The event, which drew elders, leaders and APC members from across Nigeria, was attended by APC stalwarts in Oyo State, including Mufutau Adisa, Abu Gbadamosi, members of the state House of Assembly, Shittu Ibrahim and Musbau Azeez.

Other PCC members from Abuja in attendance included Akeem Bamgbala, Tunde Williams and Femi Afikuyomi, among others.
