Tinubu meets Wike, Fubara again
Indications emerged on Monday that President Bola Tinubu may have settled the rift between Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and his political mentee, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the meeting but said he did not have details of the discussions.
BusinessDay presidential Villa sources, however, revealed that the President met for the second time this year with Wike and Fubara on Sunday night, where both Wike and Fubara agreed to end the crisis that had slowed down development of Rivers for close to three years.
The latest crisis followed a decision by Wike not to allow Fubara run for a second term in office, which he said is part of the agreement earlier reached to restore peace between him and Governor Fubara.

It was gathered that the President met with Wike and Fubara, alongside some prominent Rivers state political actors.
Though details of the meeting were not disclosed, a source at the Presidential Villa revealed that both Wike and Fubara later met again at Wike’s house at Guzape, Abuja.
The Rivers State House of Assembly had recently served an impeachment notice on the Governor, following the latest rift between Wike and Fubara.
The President had earlier met with the two warring Rivers politicians as part of efforts to end the crisis between Wike and Fubara.
