In-form Nigerian striker eyes Austrian league promotion

ATSV Wolfsberg striker, John Ejoor, has been a revelation in the Kärntner Liga this season with 13 goals in 12 games, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Ejoor has emerged as one of Europe’s most explosive scoring sensations, as the 24-year-old Nigerian striker is taking the Austrian fourth division.

Since joining ATSV Wolfsberg in the summer of 2025, Ejoor has been nothing short of unstoppable. He’s already delivered 13 goals and 2 assists in 12 matches, scoring in every single home game and netting all goals from open play.

His form has powered Wolfsberg straight to the top of the Kärntner Liga table, as they push for the league title and promotion.

“My ambition is to get promoted with ATSV Wolfsberg to the next level, the regional league in Austria. It’s going to be a delight to move up the ladder with the club. I see I have become the favourite among the fans and I love it as well,” Ejoor told PUNCH Sports Extra.

ATSV Wolfsberg fans are already calling him “The Nigerian Nightmare” for defenders.

Thanks to his contributions, ATSV Wolfsberg are currently top of the Kärntner Liga with a two-point advantage above Volkermarkt in the 16-team league.

They have amassed 35 points after 16 matches, scoring 44 goals and conceding 17. Ejoor has been directly involved in 15 of their goals.

Only the top team will secure promotion at the end of the season.
