Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi completes loan move to Porto
FC Porto have completed the signing of Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on a loan deal until the end of the 2025/26 season.
The Portuguese giants confirmed that the agreement includes a non-mandatory purchase option valued at €8 million.
If Porto trigger the option, Nice will receive a further €250,000 in performance bonuses and 10 per cent of any future resale profit.
The Calabar-born forward has endured a difficult campaign in France and has not featured for Nice since November 30, following a defeat at Lorient that was marred by serious post-match incidents involving supporters confronting players.
In the aftermath, Moffi was frozen out of the first-team setup and was forced to approach a French judicial commission to secure his departure from the club.
Moffi managed just two goals in 10 Ligue 1 appearances this season, a sharp decline from his debut campaign at Nice, where he finished as the club’s top scorer with 11 league goals.
The 26-year-old will wear the number 29 shirt at Porto and returns to familiar surroundings, having previously started for Nice in their 3–0 defeat to the Dragons in November. During his time at Nice, Moffi played alongside Pablo Rosario and worked under head coach Francesco Farioli.
Since arriving in Ligue 1 from Belgian side KV Kortrijk via Lorient in the 2020/21 season, Moffi has scored 54 goals and registered 12 assists in 148 league appearances.
At Porto, he will link up with fellow Nigerian international Zaidu Sanusi and compete for a starting role with the likes of powerful striker Samu Aghehowa.
