Lions Club pledges service without boundaries
Lions International District 404-A2 Nigeria yesterday flagged off its Aso 2026 District Convention in Abuja, themed “Service Without Boundaries.”
The gathering, which brought together members from 11 regions, will run until Sunday.
District Governor, Lion Pastor Ezekiel Umoh, highlighted the club’s ongoing humanitarian interventions, noting recent efforts to improve maternity facilities.
He also disclosed that the club donated N1.5 million to support a child referred to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, for urgent treatment.
Convention Chairperson, Lion Ngozi Adigwe, explained the significance of the annual event, saying that the theme challenges members to break barriers in service delivery.
“There are supposed to be no boundaries to render service, and no challenges when it comes to rendering service,” she added.
Second Vice District Governor, Lion Charlz Opusunju, outlined the measurable social impact expected from the convention.
He said members visited the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where they had previously built and furnished a 20-bed paediatric oncology centre.
“Today, we donated the sum of N1.5 million to a child suffering from cancer and made other gift donations to children in the oncology ward,” he said.
Beyond hospital support, the Lions will extend assistance to displaced residents of Kuchibena community, recently demolished by the FCT authorities.
Nigerians can now invest ₦2.5 million on premium domains and profit about ₦17-₦25 million. All earnings paid in US Dollars. Rather than wonder, click here to find out how it works.
