Bayern Munich open contract extension talks with Harry Kane
Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl confirmed on Monday that the Bavarians have officially entered negotiations to extend Harry Kane’s contract.
The 32-year-old England captain, who joined the Bundesliga giants in 2023, is currently under contract until 2027. Speaking on Monday at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt, Eberl acknowledged the ongoing talks.

“We’re talking to Harry,” Eberl said. “Everyone knows that at some point a decision has to be made.”
Club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also struck a relaxed tone regarding Kane’s future, insisting there is no urgency from the club’s perspective.
“Harry has great confidence in us, and he feels comfortable in Munich,” Dreesen said. “He and his family are settled in. Therefore, we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush.”
This season, the German champions are eight points clear at the top of the league and sit second in the 36-team Champions League table.
Kane hinted at a long-term future in Germany when he spoke in October 2025, saying he could “definitely imagine” extending his stay at the Allianz Arena.
The striker’s impact has been immense. Kane has scored 119 goals in 126 appearances for Bayern, alongside 30 assists.
This season alone, he has netted 34 goals in 30 matches. With 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga games, Kane is on course to break the single-season league record of 41 goals set by Robert Lewandowski in the 2020–21 campaign.
Speculation around Kane’s future persists, with Tottenham boss Thomas Frank earlier this season opening the door to a possible return to north London, while Barcelona are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely as Kane weighs up a major decision on his career.
