Ja’oji condemns killing of Mother, Six Children in Kano
Senior Special Assistant to the President Citizenship and Leadership, Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, has condemned the brutal killing of a mother and her six children in Kano.
The victims, Fatima Abubakar, 35, and her children Maimuna (17), Aisha (16), Bashir (13), Abubakar (10), Faruk (7), and Abdussalam, barely one and a half years old, were said to have been attacked with dangerous weapons after hoodlums broke into their residence at Dorayi Gidan Kwari, on Friday.
In a statement on Sunday, Ja’oji described the incident as horrific, saying the attack is a deep “wound to our collective conscience”.
He condoled with the people of Dorayi and Chiranchi, and indeed all the people of Kano State.
Ja’oji said government, traditional institutions, community leaders, and citizens must work hand in hand to safeguard communities and ensure that such evil never finds space among them again.
The statement reads, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I am utterly devastated and deeply shaken by the horrific news of the brutal killing of a mother and her six innocent children in broad daylight at Chiranchi, Dorayi, Kano State. I strongly condemn this wicked and senseless act, which is not only an attack on one family but a deep wound to our collective conscience, our shared values, and the sanctity of human life that Kano State has always upheld.
“The pain of losing a mother and six children in such a cruel and inhumane manner is beyond words. It breaks the heart of every compassionate soul and serves as a painful reminder of how fragile peace can be when evil is allowed to thrive. Kano is renowned for its culture of humanity, tolerance, and brotherhood, and this barbaric act stands in total opposition to everything we represent as a people.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, their relatives and friends, the people of Dorayi and Chiranchi, and indeed all good people of Kano State. May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive the departed souls, grant them Jannatul Firdaus, and bestow strength, patience, and comfort upon their loved ones to endure this painful and irreplaceable loss.
“I commend the Kano State Government for its swift response and firm directives to the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to thoroughly investigate this heinous crime, apprehend the perpetrators, and ensure they are brought to justice. Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done, in order to restore public confidence and preserve peace.
“This tragic incident is a solemn reminder that security is a collective responsibility. Government, traditional institutions, community leaders, and citizens must work hand in hand to safeguard our communities and ensure that such evil never finds space among us again.
“May Kano State continue to stand firm on the pillars of peace, justice, and compassion, and may humanity always triumph over cruelty.”
