Sesko’s 96th-minute equaliser rescues Man United against West Ham
Benjamin Sesko came off the bench to score a 96th-minute equaliser to earn Manchester United a 1–1 draw against West Ham in Tuesday’s Premier League fixture at the London Stadium.
The result preserved Michael Carrick’s unbeaten start as United’s interim manager, as his side snatched a point just seconds from defeat against a struggling West Ham outfit.

West Ham struck five minutes after the restart when Soucek met Jarrod Bowen’s low cross with a deft flick from close range, punishing United’s slow reactions at the back. Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo were both caught flat-footed as the move unfolded.
United struggled for rhythm for much of the contest and were starved of service in the first half, though they went close through Luke Shaw, whose effort from a Bruno Fernandes corner was cleared off the line by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Amad Diallo also fired into the side netting from a tight angle before the break.
Carrick’s men thought they had equalised on 63 minutes, but Casemiro’s header was ruled out for offside following a VAR review. United dominated the closing stages, with Joshua Zirkzee heading inches wide in stoppage time before Sesko finally struck.
Bryan Mbeumo delivered a teasing cross from the right, and Sesko calmly guided his finish past West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen from 10 yards to snatch a late point.
The draw kept Manchester United in fourth place in the Premier League, one point ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea in the race for Champions League qualification.
