
APC national chair appoints Abimbola Tooki as media adviser
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has approved the appointment of Mr. Abimbola Tooki as Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy. This was contained in a statement on Monday in Abuja. According to the statement, his appointment underscores the Chairman’s confidence in Tooki’s extensive media experience, professional depth, and proven capacity to deploy strategic communication to strengthen party cohesion, public engagement, and effective message delivery at both national and international levels. The statement said Tooki is a seasoned journalist, columnist, and media strategist with expertise in governance reporting, crisis communication, information management, and leadership. Widely respected for leveraging both traditional and digital platforms, he is known for bridging institutions and the public through clear, people-focused communication. His career spans reputable media organisations and culminated in his role as Editor of BusinessWorld Newspaper, where he oversaw editorial direction, production, administration, and corporate management. He previously rose swiftly through the ranks at Financial Standard due to exceptional performance. As a familiar broadcast analyst on Channels Television and other national platforms, Tooki regularly offers insights on public policy and national affairs. He holds an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, a PGD in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ilorin. In his new role, Tooki is expected to strengthen the APC’s communication architecture and enhance stakeholder engagement.
